Stress or Overwhelm?
I started ‘The Over-r-whelm’ blog so long ago when I was in the chaos of raising young boys and trying to just get through one day at a time. I figured if I was getting overwhelmed at the time as a new parent, I was sure there were others out there like me. This blog has been a sharing of taking each day as it comes and doing your best. Having no judgement and sharing little things I’ve found helpful to pay it forward or struggle together.
Now, my boys are teenagers and although the teen years have had its challenges, I can see a light at the end of the tunnel, back to me and back to a time for me and my partner. It’s only now that I’m actually learning what ‘overwhelm’ is vs ‘stress’ and they’re 2 very different things.
I have Mel Robbins and her podcast (https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/the-mel-robbins-podcast/id1646101002?i=1000732327344) to thank for appearing when I was listening and could retain the information! Firstly, you should just listen to it as Mel always shares super helpful information and I guarantee you’ll learn something!
In the meantime, to give you an inkling of what it’s about… you’ll learn about the difference between stress and overwhelm – two different biological states that you don’t always control. You’ll learn to reset your capacity and what it means to have life coming at you. Not only will you get a better understanding of good vs bad stress, but you’ll also get some techniques and tools to help you manage this stress and move through it.
I love sharing valuable info I find, so please listen to this podcast. We women and mothers take on so much of the family stuff every day. This is what we do and have been doing for generations. So, give yourself some time and learn to take better care of yourself when there is so many balls to juggle and trust me, your family will thank you and wonder what happened!
